Meet Dr. Pora Choi, DVM
Dr. Pora Choi is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized veterinary care and believes every pet deserves to be treated like family. She is committed to building lasting relationships with clients by taking the time to listen, educate, and create individualized treatment plans for every patient.
Originally from South Korea, Dr. Choi graduated from Chungnam National University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After moving to the United States, she completed her clinical training at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2005, she obtained veterinary licenses in both California and Nevada.
Throughout her career, Dr. Choi has gained extensive experience in a wide variety of veterinary settings, including general practice, emergency and critical care, high-volume spay and neuter programs, and rehabilitation medicine. This diverse background allows her to provide comprehensive care for patients ranging from routine wellness visits to complex medical cases.
Dr. Choi has a special interest in internal medicine, preventive healthcare, senior pet wellness, dentistry, and helping pet owners make informed decisions about their pets' health. She believes that clear communication and compassionate care are the foundation of exceptional veterinary medicine.
She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), and Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA).
Outside the hospital, Dr. Choi enjoys yoga, hiking, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. She also cherishes time with her beloved dogs, Bon-Bon and Peanut, who continue to inspire her passion for veterinary medicine every day.
